For several months in Spring 2023, Ezgi Erol, an interdisciplinary scholar with a background in fine arts, sociology, and cultural studies, visited Visual Resources. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and hold a position in the department of Transcultural Studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Director of Visual Resources, Julia Gearhart, had an opportunity to interview Ezgi on her experience working in the archives.
Kristina Zielke, a visiting graduate student in the Department of Art and Archaeology from Freie Universität Berlin during the spring 2024 semester, had an opportunity to comb through the archives in Visual Resources during her stay in Princeton. Struck by how useful these materials were to her own research, Kristina agreed to share details about her experience discovering how old photographs can spark new ideas.
