Members of the Visual Resources team regularly collaborate on and contribute to art historical and archaeological research projects, especially those that prioritize data-driven approaches, digitally-forward methods, and public-facing outcomes. Some of our ongoing projects include:
- the online publication of our archaeological and archival collections;
- the digitization of Kurt Weitzmann’s collection of photographic negatives of manuscripts from Mount Athos;
- the crowd-sourced transcription of notebooks from Howard Crosby Butler's expeditions to Syria;
- the cataloguing of collections from the Monastery of Saint Catherine at Mount Sinai;
- … and more!
Department of Art and Archaeology Digital Project Specialist, Leigh Anne Lieberman, is well-positioned to collaborate with staff, faculty, and students in the department on digital, data-driven art historical and archaeological research projects.
