On Tuesday October 8, 2024, students in Professor Sam Holzman’s course Drawing Archaeology (ART 407) had the opportunity to handle original drawings of heritage sites in Syria from the Howard Crosby Butler collection in Visual Resources.  VR staff selected sketches and final drawings for ten sites and students joined into groups of two and chose one site for which they would prepare a catalog of the drawings but also to try to trace Butler’s process through to the final published drawing.
