Students handling calligraphy materials in Profs. Cheng-hua Wang and Hui-Wen Lu's Seminar on Chinese Calligraphy (ART 525)

Students explored calligraphic techniques firsthand, experimenting with brushes and ink to develop a personal understanding of the art form.
JSTOR access troubleshooting
If you are having trouble accessing the image collection in JSTOR, the most common problem has been with browser caching: if you encounter an issue, first try a different browser or an incognito or private mode to see if the issue persists. JSTOR offers this help article on clearing cache and cookies for their platform. If issues persist despite doing this you should contact [email protected], the general library e-resources support line.

Digital Humanities for Hellenic Studies Summer Institute
Applications are open for the Digital Humanities for Hellenic Studies Summer Institute, July 7 through July 11, 2025. Visual Resources is excited to be providing the Messinesi collection for institute participants to create a digital, interactive map of photographs taken of the Vrysaki neighborhood in Athens. The institute does not require any knowledge of Greek or geospatial software, and funding is available. Princeton faculty, staff, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are invited to apply, as are graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in Greece. Applications are due March 21, 2025 and more information describing the requirements can be found on the call for applications website.
Digitized A&A Art Bulletin 1927-1945
It is very exciting to share that our colleagues at Mudd Library have, at the request of Visual Resources, digitized and made available the Bulletin of the Department of Art and Archaeology of Princeton University from the years 1927-1945. We encourage everyone to take a look at these digitized publications (make sure to scroll to the bottom of the page to see the viewer) to learn more about the history of the department, its relationship with the museum, the curriculum at the time, and especially the plans for renovations of McCormick hall (with interesting photographs!). Thank you Mudd Library!
